Sports Medicine
The Sports Medicine Injury Clinic (SMIC) at Hinsdale Orthopaedics was created to help serve the needs of our athletic community. In the face of a busy clinical practice, servicing the local community's recreational, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes can prove difficult. Routine training room visits are even more unlikely to occur, so it is important to provide a clinical setting where injured athletes can come and receive expert full-service care from physicians who specialize in sports medicine.
The SMIC is an open clinic that provides urgent appointments to those who call on the Injury Hotline (877-4HO-SMIC or 630-455-7122). The SMIC offers same day or next day appointments to provide the athlete with a definitive diagnosis, to initiate early treatment, and to ensure a quick but safe return to activity. In addition to physicians specializing in sports medicine, the SMIC provides on-site X-ray and MRI services, a full assortment of braces and assistive devices, and a team of athletic trainers to initiate and provide immediate instruction on therapeutic exercises to begin treatment.
